Reviews Viewsonic VLED221wm

David25. What was your thought on colour reproduction? One of the above reviews shows wonderful colours compared to a standard LCD. I use Adobe RGB for all my photo work, viewed on a NEC CRT display. Would viewing angles be a real disappointment?

Hi, compared to the 226BW is was far deeper and more saturated, without (in my opinion) becoming cartoon like. Note, I didnt have access to an eye one device or similar. Read the high gamut reviews on prad.de, there are pros and cons to wide gamut.

I didnt think the viewing angles were worse or better compared to the 226BW, if you are a heavy photo editor, consider http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/review/2008/review-eizo-s2231w.html

Thanks for your reply. Wide gamut does have its problems, as some Dell users have discovered recently. The VLED221wm , in the review, appears to have no backlight bleed, with deep blacks and nice clean whites with no colour cast - which may account for the deep saturated colours. The Eizo S2231w is a great monitor, but at £445 it is £128 more than the Viewsonic at £317. Eizo monitors are priced the same at all the retailers (price fixing comes to mind) so for that reason I refuse to purchase that brand, no matter how good they are. Maybe Overclockers could supply them cheaper.

Well I have may have received a bad one, but I rate the blacklight and black levels worse than my existing 226bw (s-panel). There is a better market for Eizo monitors in europe, another example of rip of britain.

I'd like to hear your experiences if you get a VLED221wm, I would have kept the monitor save for the sharpness problem, the colours are that good.
