I've got a fairly old Kingston 3G 4Gb usb drive which seems to have given up the ghost. I don't care about the loss of any files from it, but it would be great if there was a way to get it working again.
When I insert it, it appears as 'Removable Disk' in my Computer, but it also pops up a message that I need to format it before I can use it. Hitting format, it correctly establishes the capacity (3.6Gb), but when I try to actually format it, it starts but after doing not much for a few mionutes, tells me that it was unable to complete the format. 'Check to see that the disk and drive are connected properly, make sure that the disk is not read-only, and then try again.' Is there any program or way to revive it, or is it hopeless? Thanks!
