Revolution has been canceled by NBC

What's the point of wasting your time watching new series if they keep canning them ?

MW

You can still get enjoyment out of what's made. If you don't bother watching them they'll definitely get cancelled.

Although the majority of people on this forum don't contribute to viewing figures anyway so it doesn't really matter.

For the last few years I generally don't get into a series unless its been on 4 yrs or so. 9 in the case of Greys anatomy.

They have cancelled so many shows with either decent promise or were actually decent.

Thought I'd check on the status of two recent shows I hated, The Following and The Blacklist. Following renewed for a third season somehow, and The Blacklist got a 22-episode second season order.

Madness.

The first 2 seasons of Revolution were ok but it was seriously treading water this season. It had nowhere to go and no story! So not too disappointed really.

Blacklist is the strongest show NBC has at the moment. It's not going to go anywhere.

Revolution had three problems:
- it followed the new schedule model with hiatus period in the middle and the ratings never recovered after hiatus. It's a proof that main networks cannot and should not follow cable network schedule models (Breaking Bad/Walking Dead) because it does irreversible damage to consistent viewership.

- it's been one of the most DMCA'd shows in history (usenet users know what I'm talking about) and it gets to prove TV shows cannot exist on real life TV network without internet piracy as it creates international buzz and interest online that has massive repercussions on viewing figures and tivo/recorded figures. If your show is aimed at 18-30 year olds, they do not seat in front of TV on your schedule, they stopped doing so more than a decade ago and they will never ever return to your schedule again. It's the inconvenient but honest truth. Game of Thrones is the most pirated show on the planet but it is also the most viewed and purchased show on the planet and the two things are very, very related.

- major networks need to stop purchasing shows based on a pilot idea. There has to be a plot and sustainable story and sci fi/post apocalyptic shows cannot be just about small wenches of bankers wandering aimlessly back and forward between a bush and a rundown shed in rural Canada with few chroma key items added in the background for 12 episodes.

RevolutiON only had two seasons. This season was 2nd season.

Revolution was so-so, and most people with any sense said it'd get cancelled, most people never expected a second season.

Full of plot holes, and simply no plot.

I mean can anyone tell me what they've really accomplished this season? Some stuff was good about it, Sebastian as a fighter with no hope etc, Jason's death was POWERFUL stuff.

But apart from that? It's just there.

so you miss any series that was only ever planned for 1-3 seasons?

Nice rack but her face rapidly went downhill by season 2. Killing off Nora was a big mistake she was totally hot.

EDIT - I must have got mixed up yes there's only two seasons. 1st season was interesting but 2nd was boring as hell. Only Fat boy and his possessed ex-wife are interesting
