Revolution OS

Nice video.. shame about the writer who overly exagerrates his words with over-the-top lip action! :o

I quite enjoyed this video. I think it did a fairly good job explaining the roots of F/OSS. The reading of Gates' letter to the HBCC was a bit too OTT for my liking. It sort of colored the whole production as being more of a propaganda piece than it was. Also, directly before the ending credits it flashes to two graphics both about the Wall Street collapse of some Linux-centric businesses with no explanation as to how those newsflashes related to the film's point as a whole. "GNU/Linux is new, exciting, dynamic, revolutionary, and growing. Repeat the previous sentence for 70 minutes. Also, it's been a failure in the marketplace. Bye!"

Uhh, I don't think he's doing that on purpose. ;)

I watched it last night and found it very interesting. It made me want to be all open source and free beer! :)

I found it weird that when they asked Linus if he liked it being called Linus / GNU he said "no, it's stupid" but everytime the Open Source Movement referred to it they still called it Linux / GNU :o

Oh, and the reading of the letter from Bill Gates was so dramatic.. I thought the reader was going to explode in anger towards the end. haha
