time to make a new thread for this:

rFactor 2 is the successor to the hugely sucessful rFactor. Only a few details have been released so far, the game is known to include improved AI, circuit specific environment maps, physically modelled bumps & dips and changeable weather effects. Furthermore, it will be quite easy for rFactor 1 mods to be converted to rFactor 2, and the same modding tools will be provided to community.
Several modding groups have already started work on mods ready for rFactor 2's release, such as CTDP F1 2009, and RMT World Super GT 2. As soon as the game is released, we will be hosting mods, tracks, cars and much more here on SimRacingWorld.

some info about the game and some screenshots and video from yours truelly nismo:

Not been on here for a while so gonna ad some new rFactor 2 content that has been released. The screenshots are quite old now but the vid was released yesterday and while it's clearly WIP i love the directiopn this sim seems to be heading. The track reflections looks sublime as do the tyres even on that low res mush.

Think a rFactor2 thread should really be created now as we seem to be getting a steady flow of stuff now. :smashin:

No other game do i want more than this but the longer they take the better IMO. :smashin:

Been waiting a while for this. It could be awesome, espescially once the mods start rolling in like with the first one. Bought myself a G27 the other month so I'm all set :)...guess iracing and rFactor will have to tide me over in the meantime...

Doesn't look that visually stunning to me, but that's not why I'll be buying it. I'm sure that's true with a large amount of sim racers.

It's still using the rFactor engine any way.

Just heavily refined. :)

I can't wait for it to be honest!

Hadn't heard news of rF2 before. I knew it was coming but assumed it wouldn't be until the end of 2011/ or beginning of 2012.

The weather effects'll be good, that was what made rF a bit of a downer for me but I must say I loved rF. If only I had a decent wheel for my PC that wasn't a massive hassle to attach to my desk I would have played rF more.

Will rF2 have day/night effects as well as weather? Would love an F1 mod with a wet weather Malaysia race or a night Singapore GP.

One of the guy's that run's in the rfactor league(sponsered by rF2) I'm in is working on rF2 and he told me that its done when it's done as they dont want to miss anything out as they did in rfactor.

A refreshing way to get a game(sim) right if you ask me

That's easy for them to do, ship the sequel with some content instead of shipping just a game engine and then expect the community to finish the job for them.

As much as I loved rFactor, there no getting away from the fact that it wasn't worth buyng until it had been out for a year. Even then it was way much hassle to find decent tracks, cars and mods and then to actually get them to work.
