Sorry for the stupid question but need someone to tell me the right thing to do.
My cpu cooler (peerless assassin) fans have an rgb connector which is like the fan header but 3 pins. My phanteks g300a case has 3 fans with rgb cables which have a more compact plug. The ASUS aura header is only one and matches the cpu cooler.
I do need more case fans. Do I need to buy a Corsair fan set plus controller to plug all case fans into and plug the cooler directly into the mb?

Thanks

I've not had one of the new G series Phanteks cases but if it has the usual case RGB buttons then you should find a 3 pin plug tail in the case fan RGB daisy chain. See pic below.

I've just assembled another P400 system and I have a Peerless Assassin + 3 Phantek case fans + RGB support bracket daisy chained to the case RGB controller. If you plug the motherboard header in you have to use software to control everything which is a bit hit n miss. Some other devices such as RAM will need software of course.

I don’t have an rgb button on the case. Each of the three case fans has a power connector and the below connector daisy chained

Oh I’m getting confused that’s the power cable. So I do need a separate rgb hub for the system
The adapter below below would allow you to connect your Phantek RGB fans to the more common 3 pin connector that you have on your motherboard. You wouldn't necessarily need a hub if you can daisy chain all your RGB devices to 1 or 2 of the motherboard headers (depending on how many it has).

Maybe I'm mis-reading the original post but the case description states it comes with an adapter already. So if you asking if you NEED a hub then no if you can daisy chain your current devices to the motherboard header.

Thank you that was what I needed, the pic of the adapter. Got it now. The mb only has one 5v rgb header and another which is 12v which is marked for led strips.
