TLDR: Basically I want to know what fans to buy that will work with my case and board along with the Corsair magnetic levitation fans.

Hi all.

I have a EVGA DG-87 case - link to manual --> https://www.evga.com/support/manuals/files/DG-8_Manual.pdf

It holds 8 140cm fans. I've decided to change the stock fans due to a horrible rattling coming from the front 3 during the recent heatwave.

I've been given 3 Corsair magnetic levitation fans that I will use for the front 3 intake positioned vertically.

I want to add at least 3 RGB (Purple/Blue) to the 3 top exhaust fans, would these work? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phanteks-sk140-white-drgb-pwm-fan-140mm-triple-pack-fg-02s-pt.html if not could anyone recommend any?

Also my case has buttons on the front that controls the fan speed and a temperature monitor as well as an all fans to max button - K boost.

My motherboard is a MSI PRO-Z690-A-DDR4 which has JRGB & JRainbow connections.

Thank you.

yea my case came with those fans the RGB daisy chain on the fans so you only need to connect 1 to the actual header, they go to Jrainbow connectors

You will need to use MSI light sync to controlt he RGBs if you connect them directly to the motherboard.
if your corsair are RGB with a corsair RGB hub then I don't know if phanteks fans work with the ICUE software, but everyone seems to hate the corsair software anyway so your probably better using the MSI or SignalRGB anyway

Jrainbow support up to 75 led at full brightness or 200 led at 20% brightness.
Those phanteks have 12 led in each fan so daisy chaining 3 fans to one header is fine.

any fan/led strip that says +5v/Data/Ground pin lay out will connect to Jrainbow, JRGB is for 12v 4pin LEDs

The actual fans are quiet and push a reasonable amount of air, they will do well as exhaust fans

I use the corsair ql 140 mm fans in my case. I'm happy with the icue software, you could add them all to the corsair icue hub!
I personally use the msi header for some led lights, I find the msi sync software and many others think the same as me as really bad unfortunately, it just doesn't work properly. You never know - you might get on with it..

MSI light sync works perfectly for me with fans and led strips
I put some strips on the back of my desk and set them to "Music" gets nice flashes of light to the sounds in games/movies/music

use MSI light sync to pretty much control all the systems RGB and never had issues with it , also it seems to use little resources dont even need MSI light sync to load on start up and still retains the RGB profile, I used to have Corsair fans and used ICUE and didnt like the way it used to spike the CPU randomly

Now I just make sure to buy devices that support argb

it's a service that runs in the background that's why you don't need the app loaded.

but as you say it seems to use no noticeable resources at all even when set to music mode which obviously monitors the audio from your pc.

music mode works with realtek onboard and PCIE sound cards btw, not sure if it works with USB dacs like the G6 though
