I recently got a sound blaster ae5.
The thing comes with a built in led controller.
I already have a aorus z390 motherboard with 12v led headers? The manual, as seen below is averagely basic.

Anyway, I've decided to give the led lighting a whirl on the AE5.

Would this
Corsair RGB LED Lighting PRO Expansion Kit be compatible with the ae5 or the motherboard headers at a push.....

I read all these things are basically the same.....??

If these are no good. Can anyone recommend something else?
Or do I just buy these nasty white ae5 branded ones?

Your Aorus motherboard has
  • 2 RGB headers (12v) these are your standard RGB strips which change the entire length of the strip at the same time
  • 2 Addressable RGB headers (5v) these are your newer fancy headers which have 3 pins. Each LED on the strip can be a different colour at the same time.
Your Soundblaster card also uses 5v Addressable RGB strip, but seems to use a propitiatory headers but the cable to convert 4 pin to 3pin addressable RGB strip is included it seems.

The corsair strips are Addressable RGB, but use propitiatory connectors on each end, Its hard to see what the AE5 cable ends it from pics to see if they will be compatible, but tech wise both are 5v addressable.

Thanks for explaining.
The older I get the less inclined I am to work out/read up on things.
Yes in lazy.
I just bought the creative pack.
A bit more expensive but I know it will work.
Thanks for your time.
