Hey guys i have a question concerning my RGB levels

My setup , RTX 3070 , using a hdmi 2.1 cable into my LG C1 oled . under NVidia settings i have RGB set to FULL , 10 bit colour playing at 4k 120hz

When my black level is set to the AUTO or FULL setting on TV everything seems washed out and the black seem greyish.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thanks.

I have a CX model with 3090 and my options are Auto/Low/High.

Auto and High are the same for me as for you, a bit washed out. I think that's the point of it though, as the Low option can really make things hard to see in games so if I want the really deeps blacks I set it on low but moistly it's on high.

can you get a colorimeter to tune the display accordingly for the PC? just curious. seeing on AVforum loads of people seem to struggle with colour reproduction as well.

I havent tested out my OLED but i suspect i will need to use my spyder to do some kind of calibration and using LUT to manage a good colour. tho I am not sure DisplayCal does HDR content calibration or not...

Set black level to Low if RGB is set to Full in Nvidia control panel. If RGB is limited in control panel then set TV to Full - basically don't use Auto (Auto doesnt work correctly) and set the TV to the opposite of what's in Nvidia control panel or you will get washed out colors

Other way about - though Auto works fine for me :)

The problem is "auto" just seems to set it to Full, regardless of if your PC image output is set to Full or Limited - that means its not really an auto feature.

Maybe Auto works better with other devices, but it doesn't work with PC's and the TV doesn't know if your PC is sending Full or Limited and because of that the TV just defaults to Full which is a problem if your PC is also on Full
