I would like to use some RGB memory in a refurb of my system.
This motherboard doesn't have any RGB fan headers but does this mean that I wont be able to control RGB ram via Corsair iCUE software or an RGB fan via a RGB splitter.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

The RGB RAM does not connect via RGB headers. Information will be fed to the RAM directly. As for your board, its a maby as RGB RAM was becoming a thing around the middle of X99's life cycle if I recall correctly.

I can see from the 2.03 BIOS onwards for that board, G-Skill RGB memory is supported at least: https://www.evga.com/support/downlo...=BIOS&accversion=2.03&part_number=131-HE-E095

No idea on other RGB memory stuff.

It does depend which RAM - If you use Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer, for example, it will illuminate upon startup but Crucial's own MOD software will NOT work for X99.

However, Asus Aura does do some things, so it's worth trying that out although I do have an Asus board. Might be worth trying other Mobo makers' software.
You just won't get the patterns that MOD has... I would presume the same for other manufacturer's own software, too.

I got that it didn't connect to an RGB header I used that as an example of showing how their might not be RGB support on this board, thanks for the bios update I went through the others and found no mention of RGB on them or much information at all to be honest!
Bios is now 2.08 updated last year so you never know, I've emailed EVGA support asking the question have to see if I get a reply.

Thanks for the replies.

So in the end I took a punt on the RGB memory working as I wanted to upgrade from 16gb to 32gb and bought Corsair Vengeance DDR3200 and I can confirm I now have a subtle green and white effect going on to match the case so it seems the EVGA Micro 2 does indeed work with RGB memory if anyone else is interested.
