I recently order a pair of these fans which arrived today to use on my asus b350-f which has 12v RGB 4 pin headers.
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/xspc-rgb-series-800-2200rpm-pwm-12v-4pin-fan-120mm-fg-00a-xs.html

On the product description it says "Please Note: This fan is NOT compatible with 3pin 5V addressable RGB headers or controllers. Only connect to 12V RGB headers, making sure the arrows on connectors and headers line up."

How ever in the box there is a piece of paper that says "Warning this fan is not compatible with 4 pin 12V RGB (+RGB) headers or controllers, connecting the fan to a 12v RGB will cause permanent damage. Only connect to 5v addressable RGB, making sure the 5v wire connects to the 5v header. Connecting the cable in reverse through the 4pin RGB extension cable will cause permanent damage."

I spoke to OCUK support on the phone to Chris who was very helpful, he said that had been missold so they would arrange an RMA and refund no problem.

I had a look on the XSPC website and their own product pages conflicts with the note in the box

http://www.xs-pc.com/fans-radiator-accessories/rgb-series-120mm-fan-pwm-800-2200rpm-12v-rgb.

The fans dont appear to be adressable and use 12v 4pin RGB.

Ideally I would really like to use them and not RMA them, DPD drops offs in my area are a bit of a nightmare, the nearest one is 3 miles away on the otherside of the city.

:( Any my new CPU is sitting here ready to be installed.

The fan has a sticker on which says RGB series 12v GRB, and has a 4 pin RGB connection.

Can anyone offer clarity ? and clear up my confusion.
