RGB strips for this motherboard

No one is any good with this LED/RGB stuff because the major players in the market are refusing to settle on a standard and that makes it incredibly annoying for us , the end user.

I think you do need a hub to use those particular strips and I am not going out of my way to care about or find out which Phanteks hub will work with them. What you should do instead is look for a generic strip that works with standard RGB/ARGB headers on your motherboard.

For instance this strip here will work with all ARGB headers on Asus/MSI/Gigabyte mobos. I am sure there are longer versions that will use the generic headers so look for one of those and do not perpetuate the segregation in RGB by giving Phanteks money for these types of products.

Sorry if I came across as grumpy and preaching but the RGB market can only be fixed if we the consumers make it profitable to adhere to a certain standard.

Hey!

That's what my concern was, Didn't want to buy a strip only to find it'll require a proprietary £30-50 adapter to work lol.

Those look pretty decent, Can be daisy chained too which is ideal as i can then mount one at the top and another down the front or bottom depending on how much play i have with the cable.

The headers are 12v/G/R/B for C1 and and C2, and there are also some addressable ones which are D1/D2 they are 5v/D/NC/GND. The first two are pretty standard and can be found from lots of generic/non-branded sources, the addressable ones need something like Akasa Vegas strips or similar if you want to connect direct to the board headers and control them from software. Just make sure which ever ones you buy have the correct pin in/out for the board headers.

Hi pal,

The ones I've ordered are the Kolink Inspire L1 that Haz posted above as they were a good price and had plenty of stock, I purchased two as i see they are daisy chainable, Just hope there's enough power from the header on my board to power both strips.

Well i received the Kolink Inspire L1,s..daisy chained them together like they're designed to be, Connected it to the 4 pin RGB header (3 actual pins one is missing) as that matches the connector of the Kolink and its not working. They don't light up.

3 pin is ARGB.

Did you try separate not daisy chained?

D-LED1 (bottom left) & D_LED2 (top right) are for 5v [use these]

LED_C1 & LED_C2 are 12v you dont use these for that kit they are located next to the other ones check the names.

Which case do you have?

I prefer to purchase a hub as such if case didn't include one they are not expensive can be had £10-15.

Thanks for the reply, Was an error on my part! Appears i didn't have the connector fully seated. They both light up now cheers
