I'm looking at the possibility of expanding my skill set and contemplating swatting up for the RHCE exams.. has anyone taken them and is there any real point if I don't have physical experience?
My career background is mainly programming, currently it's .NET/C# programming (with PHP/VB etc thrown in) but I have a good grounding on Windows/SQL and Unix servers in a production environment over the past seven or eight years as part of my job. I have been using Linux since RH6.2 days and looking at a few example questions for the RHCE exams I seem to know a fair amount of stuff so I'm confident with the appropriate level of study I'll be able to pass.
But will that be of any use in the marketplace if I don't have the actual experience?
