"Normal" Gas bbq or cast iron griddle pan over a double burner hob, what's gonna provide the best results?

What would YOU choose?

Tom.

It is indeed lava rock.

I'm trying to make my mind up, the cast iron will get hotter i think, but i love the taste from a bbq!

Half way through their salt sitting, all that moisture will absorb back in before they get cooked hopefully :)

I went with the BBQ, and they were VERY good but it wasnt hot enough really, didn't get a proper crust. Still was a beautiful texture and definitely had the bbq taste.

To those saying "it's not a proper bbq so it doesnt taste any different" are chatting crap. Yes a proper charcoal bbq is better, but a gas bbq gives you 90% of the taste with 1% of the hassle, they are brilliant and I can't wait to be able to afford a proper one.
