Does anyone eat the above as a meal?

It seems so cheap, and pretty nice, and easy to add things to make it taste real nice, but it just seems too good to be true.

Is it something that is healthy and provides a person with enough nutrients like protein? Is it something that could be used as a regular main meal?

If you renamed it "risotto" and asked Google for a "mixed bean risotto" you'd get supporting evidence for the plan. Baked beans and white rice wouldn't be quite as good, but in general rice + pulses is a sound plan.

Half of Central America have that as their main meal with some plantain in the side.

Quite nice really.

Tin of beans cooked until they thicken nicely, a good dose of jerk seasoning and a packet of micro rice. Quick easy and tasty but I wouldn't want to live on it.

frozen long gran rice + baked beans +frozen sweetcorn + frozen peas+ frozen ready cooked chicken
have it all the time just add as much of each as you want to a plate stick it in the microwave for 4mins and done.
tastes pretty nice and your eating a fairly healthy meal that took minutes + it's cheap apart from the beans

Rice, beans and a little fish sauce for protein. Great meal.

I'm usually more satisfied by the simple meals than the complex.

And I love rice, it's so simple, one pot, cup of rice, 2 cups of water, anything extra you want to chuck in for flavour. 15 minutes later, fluffy rice you can eat from the pan. Excellent post pub munchies.

I'd go for it if it was a spicy south american stylee bean and rice dish, but I don't think I'd descend to baked beans and rice unless I was desperate. I think I'd rather have the beans with toast!

Low fat doesn't mean healthy, and what constitutes healthy food isn't subjective.

That was my point. I think people's view on what is healthy is usually subjective although it may not be correct.
Hence why the OP asked if rice and beans was healthy.

Hmm, never tried that before. I'd probably use a tin of mixed beans in spicy tomato sauce that Tescos sell.

Sounds like a cheap winner to me..
probably bang some spices in the beans..
good tip is drop a teaspoon of garlic pickle in, that = instant tasty.
