Rice cooker vs multicooker

Hi all,

I cook a lot of rice in a pan and find mixed results, overflowing steam, etc. Instead I was thinking of getting a rice cooker. It has the added benefit of switching to keep warm when the rice is done.

I notice for a few pound more I can get a multicooker like a Pressure King Pro, which also cooks rice. Does anyone have any experience using these vs a rice cooker and if they both do the same job? I don't think I'd use the multicooker for anything else very frequently, but it would be nice to have the option.

Thanks!

see earlier thread, but the good Japanese brand rice cookers are more expensive than PK, the tefal 8in1 non-pressure(but has vapor seal) multi-cook ~£50 says it does rice though... or judge mini-rice cooker ... what had you seen ?
Rice cookers ability to programme brown rice looks questionable too, which put me off .... but less bulk / more asthetic than a PK.
capacity is an issue too ... PK/5L will be over-volume for typical rice needs
... yes its a dilema ... from the wall

I was looking at the Reishunger Rice Cooker, which is 1.2L. Ideally big enough for 3 or 4 portions but agree that most of the pressure cookers/multi cookers are huge for my needs. I hate taking up worktop space but I cook rice at least three times a week so it would need to be kept out.

I saw some rice cookers going for more than £300! Crazy amounts for what I need it for.
