Depending on exactly where the rice has settled there may be a pollen filter or similar that you can remove which will give you some access into the lower areas of the ducting without having to take the whole dash apart.
I had this problem once, it was back in 1969 and me a good buddy were on a drive through a little village area known as Phu Bai Valley, when we got our jeep stuck in a rice field.
I found the best way to fix it was not to remove the rice but cook it right in the vent (using a spare flamethrower of course) and pick it out with some chop sticks we found sitting about.
