Richard Hammond involved in serious crash

Why? As they have said.

Vastly fewer electronic car fires than petrol cars. Even if you reduce the electronic car pool to match the amount of electrical cars.

Petrol cars still have far more fires lol

The demographic who can currently afford Rimac/Tesla, Hammond aside, are probably not the category that will wrap it around a tree,
but by the time the other contingent get on board they will need to improve integrity.

Compared to the Tesla 6mm steel battery armour, it would be interesting to know what the golf gte has, say.

From all the films I've seen American cars are designed to burst into flames on the slightest impact aren't they?

There are vastly fewer electric cars and they are far from mainstream, most only doing a handful of miles a day.

Most car fires are caused by electrical faults, not the fuel.

looks like tesla had updated their armour - noble/valuable metals ?

Not the bottom of the battery box, I'm sure it's aluminum. But exterior to that a steel plate, it's been discussed before and comes up every time someone freaks out about the few Tesla's that caught on fire I in their early days which prompted them to add a titanium plate on the under-side of the car to protect their pack. BMW went with steel as it's cheaper, but seems to be effective as we haven't seen any i3's burn from debris penetrating the pack

I made that point clear in my post.

And? Still shows that far fewer fully electronic cars have burst into flames.
