Rickenbacker 4001 prices?

i thought i could pick one up for around £600 on a very good day and have seen a few for around that on the bay. just wondering if anyone knew whether they would be anygood at that price? i know its a Rickenbacker so the chances are yes

but ive seen some for £2000+

any info is great
