He has broken the record for the highest amount of centuries by an Aussie and at the rate he is going he will soon have taken Tendulkar's record of 35 centuries, Tendulkar should be close to 50 by now but as his form has dried up so have the centuries. Ponting is is already on 30
The last time I saw a single player dominate like this was back in 1997-1999 when Tendulkar was on a one man mission to destroy every team in sight.
I think he feels party responsible for losing the Ashes after putting England into bat and being the first Aussie captain to lose the Ashes in so many years has put a big mark on his record and maybe that is what is driving him on. He talks about the Ashes a lot as well so I think that is on his mind and he is probably counting the days until England come down under. Should be a great series.
