Hypthetical question about run flat tyres really...if someone lets the air completely out of the tyre and that tyre gets driven on for 20 miles (as you are able to with run flats) - Can that tyre then be reinflated and used as normal (as there was no puncture to account for the pressure loss) or does the tyre have to be discarded - i.e. it's outlasted its 'usefulness' and should not be reinflated and used as before.

sidewalls would have been damaged by running flat (even with it being a runflat)

i think anyway.... lol

Run flats work by having a reinforced sidewall which takes on the weight of the car when you have a puncture. This is the reason you have to slow to 50MPH to stop the sidewall overheating and collapsing. Try kicking the sidewall of a car with runflats ... you won’t make a dent.
