Must confess, I have been worried about the memory usage on a new PC I built recently!

Anyways, I had a quick look at CPU-Z to check timings and noticed that where I thought were 2GB or Ram on 2 sticks, they was just 1gb on 2 sticks.

I checked my order with OCUK, yep, I had clicked the wrong kit! Didn't bother to check it properly, and of course when the kits come, they aren't marked by capacity, just buy a serial number type code. Now I know why Vista 64 is using 89% of my memory!

Ooops!

I dunno, only got 2 slots to play with, so we shall see.

1Gb of RAM on Vista 64, just doesn't do the job!

PS-I am actually blonde!

I have a plan, I have one PC with 4GB of RAM over 4 sticks, which I generally use for games, and the other, which I have built for my folks, which I have built with 1GB of RAM over 2 sticks.

Would it be reasonable to swap 2 of my 1GB sticks for the 2 512MB sticks to give my PC, 3GB over 4 sticks, and my folks PC, 2GB over 2 sticks as I originally intended?

Would I see any real difference in gaming, and general use on my PC?
