Hi guys,

I've had some stock land of the amazing Edifier E255's in both black and red and made some bundles with VR headsets so you can get some cheeky discount across the two items.

Here's a video we put up about it a while back:

While it can be fiddly to set up (thanks windows creators update, and make sure to download Dolby plugins), and not every game supports, it it does add another layer of immersion. Not having earphones on and having REAL surround sound does make a massive difference. The speakers are also fantastic and will give those xmas blu-rays you receive the soundscape they deserve!

Here are the bundles!:

Might be a good bundle for those looking for a VR headset and sound system, but who uses speakers with VR? It would kill the immersion. When you turn around the front audio is going to be behind you.

Just where it should be! When you turn your head the origin of the sound should stay where it is. It shouldn't follow the movements of your head.

If you are at my 12 o clock and i turn 180 degrees, you (the source of the sound) will be at my 6 o clock. If the sound moved as well, you'd be at my 6 o clock and

Not all games support this as most games change the sound you are hearing according to the orientation of your head, but we found plenty that do. It made Aliens wayyyyyyyyyyy more immersive!

The problem with external speakers is that you always need to recalibrate the VR frontal point of reference with the frontal speaker, which means looking out of VR everytime you recalibrate(usually due to a tangled cable). They should be great for seated sims, but then a good set of headphones would probably be better for most people.

Yeah I agree for most people it will be the better option. However for those that want to experience it, it's another level of immersion. You don't have to recalibrate it that often either. When you jump in it usually does it automatically to your orientation when it loads.

You are correct, it's also great for racing sims. When you've got a rear engine car and all the noise is hitting you from behind and the huge sub on this set is making the sound run through your body, it's on another level...

The thing that got me most was in Aliens when the drips and rattles actually sound like they are coming from a few metres away rather than right by your ear. That was some fantastic atmosphere!
