Rift reports "No HDMI Connection"

About twice this week my Rift reported no hdmi connection in the Oculus Home app.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the GPU drivers usually fixes the issue.

I'm running win10 with the Inatek USB card (using MS drivers). The rift is on a USB2 port, the sensor is on the USB3.

I have a HDMI monitor and a DP monitor running alongside the rift on a 1070.

All drivers are up to date.... The HDMI cable is fine when it works so I don't think it's a cable fault.

Any ideas ?

I usually only get that when I run the Debug Tool and try and up the scaling. Sometimes stopping the service and restarting it fixes it other times I need to reboot. I've never resorted to reinstalling GPU drivers. Perhaps I should.

Mind you the whole USB thing on my PC is messed up, often my racing wheel is misdetected so our problems may be completely different.

Used to have a Logitech stick, but that just used the ms drivers. I'll look into it. Thanks.

In the meantime I've sent the logs of too oculus, we'll see what they say.

Is anyone here using the inatek USB card? What drivers are you using? Btw this would be for win 10 64 but.

The main reason for USB3 is for the sensor to report back the position with low enough latency.

My understanding is that USB2 is fine for the headset.

At the moment I've got everything plugged into USB3 and just started to use a DP -> HDMI adaptor for the rift video signal as I heard that some NVidia drivers are happier like this.

Oh I've also turned off power saving on all the usb hubs in device manager.

Will report back on how it goes.

Did you sort out the problem , as i am having some issues as well as disconnecting , i have had my touch for over a week now but all this disconnecting issue is getting to me , to the point where i am close to just getting rid of it

One disconnect in 2 hours elite after about 20 minutes. I moved the headset USB to a USB on board and it was good as gold for the next 1h40m.

It does seem to be the USB port that is the issue not the HDMI port although the audio keeps working.

So too soon to say it's resolved but....

Can't believe this is an issue :-/ USB should be a mature tech with no issues.

My rift will be ok for a week or so then it loses connection , when i go to sett it up its fine then it will lose it again very random , now every time i go to pair my touch it wont find it then it disconnects my hmd , really frustrating ive had it working and brought games for the touch and all this is still happening so close in just getting rid of iit now
