Hi all,

I am looking to get into the VR market. I own a PS4 and I own a capable PC (4590k i5 and 1070 GTX).

IMO the Vive looks like the best kit but unfortunately I do not have the space for a HTC Vive set up.

Rift is supposed to be very good, but I am worried about the amount of immersive games with the current lack of motion controllers.

What is the best option?

Another thing that bothers me is the amount of exclusives across all three platforms atm, for example the RE7 on PSVR (timed I know but sucks), Doom VR (looks like vive only?), serious sam and other FPS style standing shooters (look like vive only?).

I want the best of all three, whilst only buying one kit.

What does the rift offer and what is the future of the kit once the motion controllers release?

Is there anything I should consider if I was to buy the rift over the other competition?

I have at this point decided I will wait for the next Vive which will likely be wireless and the headset more comfortable. By then there maybe decent software library for it also.

well if you want to scratch the VR itch, I'd go with the PSVR

if you can wait, wait a year

I thought long and hard about this a coupe of months ago and decided a gen 1 product just isn't worth the asking price at the minute. There's a lot of people selling up after the initial buzz wears off.

VR is amazing stuff, even though it's not perfect yet. I don't regret getting my rift as I am into games like elite dangerous which is excellent in VR. I also don't have space for roomscale which is part of the reason I went with the rift. There are plenty of games on steam that don't need touch controllers, but I must say I would like to try the games that use them.

The resolution does but me though so if there were a release date for gen2 I'd say wait. Since there isn't, it's a case of whether you want to experience that insane immersion now, but knowing it's not really perfect yet.
