Rig Check Advice Needed

Hello all,

A pal of mine has finally woke up and seen the light and decide to buy a pc after spending the last 3 years gaming on his Macbook pro
his budget is £1700 and although his budget seems a little high he won't be upgrading for another 3 or 4 years.
The new rig will be overclocked and be used mainly for fps gaming (Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, 2012 titles and so on)

This is what he has come up with so far



Could you please have a look and see what you think his spec and whats changes you would make.

Too much on mobo, id get a Asus P67 Sabertooth, & a Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz

edit, & your going to need a white dvd-rw with that case.

My opinion;

Less on the mobo as above, keep the 2500k though since for gaming it's pratically the same as the 2600.

I would also switch the H50 for a good air cooler, you will get much better results. Futhermore if you wanted to save some money you could get another GPU like the 480GTX or the 570GTX which deliver similar results for less cash, however the 580GTX is a good card.

SSD would be a smart move and was thinking about telling him to switch out the H50 for the NH-D14 but reading around that the Vengeance ram is too big and won't fit underneath with that cooler.
