Hi Everyone,

Last couple of days ive noticed my system has been cutting out whilst gaming. Its powering down completely, and rebooting again after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay.

I did, a couple of months ago upgrade my GPU from a 780ti to a 980TI. All was fine at first, until couple of days ago, (not sure if this has anything to do with it). OC has been reset to default, and ive upgraded Bios to latest firmware. (X79 Deluxe) to no avail, issue keeps happening. After googling I'm leaning towards it being a possible PSU issue but not sure, could be motherboard related? Ive took a SS of HWmonitor for everyone to see so you can look at the +12v 3.3 and 5v on the PSU.

I have a quality PSU (Leadex Platinum) so it seems hard to believe? Any help would be appreciated. :)

I know there is another thread with a simlar issue but didn't want to hijack

Anything in Event Viewer for just before it fails?

Can you run a hardware monitor program that logs the voltages and temps to a text file (the Pro version of CPUID HWM does, but maybe try Open Hardware Monitor), so that when it fails you can then see if there are any losses just before?

Might be worth running benchmarks that load the cpu and gpu independently to see if you can isolate the problem.

Any idea on temperatures?
Check your fans are working, especially gpu and cpu.

Checked inside my case last night, cables are secure and GPU seated properly. I did actually run Firestorm once to load the GPU & CPU, rig cut out after about 2 minutes during benchmark. Temps are good, considering I'm running at stock but i will double check these as well as event viewer.

Il try open hardware monitor tonight to see if i can log temps and voltages.

Thanks for the help.

Things have got progressively worse.

Even when im on my web browser the system just cuts out now, no warning or error report. Straight up cuts out, it's unusable right now im on the laptop.

Ive noticed when it cuts, my board will try and restart it again automatically, sometimes it might boot into windows, or not even get that far. Its a problem that's got progressively worse as this began with DOOM lagging a little then freezing in game, then all of a sudden the cuts.

Im learning towards this being either a PSU or board issue, but wondering what everyone else's opinion may be? Im beginning to think its the end of my rig now (sorry to be dramatic) :(

im with BriT try another psu. how old is your current psu? I know you say its a good quality unit but thats not to say it hasnt went faulty.

Its 2 years old, totally understand that even good PSU's can develop faults. Will try another psu and get back soon.

I had a similar problem with my PC about a year ago which was happening since i bought it, fixed it by updating the BIOS to the latest version. Might help.

To me it sounds like a board or PSU issue. Hopefully it's just the PSU - even the best OEMs like Superflower have a few lemons escape quality control.

You don't actually need a 1000W PSU, a good 650W will be fine, even with overclocking (if you need to buy a spare). If a different PSU doesn't fix it, then yeah, I'd err towards a board issue.
