Hey All,

So I've made a couple of threads in the past regarding upgrading my current Phenom II X4 and MSI mobo. It seems every time I make a thread a week or two after I get hit with some random cost, car last time.

I am still angling after some new parts and was wondering if it makes sense to buy the following:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £163.98
(includes shipping: £0.00)

I know that it'll end up costing £50 more in the end but I've read that the Pentium overclocked will give me just as good if not slightly better performance in Fallout 4 / BDO.

Won't end up going totally to waste as the pentium will end up going in a family members PC or as a home server.

Thoughts? Any better motherboards for around £100 or should I just stick with my Phenom until I have the money to outright buy an i5 and board?

Once clocked the G3258 may offer slightly better performance, but in reality it will be a sideways move at best.

If it's gaming your after then your money may be better spent on a better GPU, depending on what you have now.

Okay, at current I have a HD7950 3GB Boost from the refurb line OCUK did last year so no issue there hence trying to make a jump to a haswell or skylake system money permitting.
