Right Allocation of RAM

Recently upgraded my laptop Ram from 512MB to 1500MB but still its not giving that speed which i was expecting before the upgrade and for that i think it some kind of allocation problem, can anyone suggest me that is there any way to allocate memory to all the drives equally or according to our will. Thanks in advance

I don't really know what you mean by that. Your memory has nothing to do with your hard drives. Can you explain a bit more?
