Im hoping ths is the right section seeing as how this is for modding questuions too but....

Anyone know if there is an adapter to make the gfx card power connection come out at a right angle?

I have some nice braided cables for my card but I cant get them in due to the coooler >_<

Hope its clear what I mean!

Pic below is current cables :

Edit : cooler is an accelero xtreme on a 4870x2

I've never seen or heard of anything. Usually the panel mount connectors on the graphics card themselves would be the ones that take the 90 degree rotation and not the accessory connector. I used to work in the connector industry and I never saw a male Molex mini-fit junior with a 90 degree body. It doesn't mean they don't exist though.

Not sure if I'd fancy replacing the panel mount connectors myself and I'm reasonably competent with a soldering iron.

Anyway if you are interested here's the product page on Molex http://www.molex.com/molex/products...oducts&chanName=family&pageTitle=Introduction

Wow, that's a terrible design.

Never have been a fan of manufacturer designed cooling solutions, but that one takes the ****.

I'd probably buy some male and female connectors and solder them to a length of wire and make my own adapter. Alternatively ditch the terrible cooler.

Hmm I dont fancy any soldering tbh :) It was more of an OCD thing trying to hide all cables so if its going to be too much of a hassle I'll just leave it.

The cooler is actually pretty danm good in terms of cooling just not cable management!

Thanks for the replies.

That plastic looks like it can be un-clipped from the heatsink. Can you un-clip it, put the cable in, and clip it back on?

unclip the fans, dremel the side a little bit and use the standard cable :) i did it myself with mine, worked a treat and looks a lot tidyer than the crappy adapters they provide you
