Right cable?

My TFT has a DVI cable but my motherboard has a VGA and a HDMI port.

Is this the item i need to connect the TFT to the PC:

yep, that would do the trick as long as you got the room free for it. I'm guessing that it might be a tight fit with some motherboard/case combinations.

Digital signal so they either work or they don't

I've made do with the cheapest DVI/HDMI cables for years...
