Hello all,

I think i may have bought the wrong ram for my motherboard.

Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 XMS3 i5 Memory Kit CL9(9-9-9-24) 1.65V

Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P AMD 770 Socket AM3 6 Channel Audio Out ATX Motherboard

It looks as if i should have got 1.5v ram?

Would you mind helping me on this please.

The ram will work, but you need to manually increase the ram voltage to 1.65v and to run at 1600mhz you need to overclock the cpu as the board does appears not to support the default speed without overclockng.

Edit: Over 1666mhz needs to be overclocked :)

You won't need to overclock the CPU, but will probably need to set up RAM timings manually in the BIOS.

I am running this Corsair Dominator XMS3 on a Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P, similar board, and don't overclock the CPU at all.

I did increase the memory voltage to 1.7 to keep it stable.

It may work ok, but the downside is this, 'i5 Memory Kit'. If it does not work as specified I doubt that you will get any official support from Corsair.

Yep, in the BIOS, setting memory clock to manual enables x8.00 1600 with auto CPU Clock.

Anything higher than 1600, the CPU Clock needs manually adjusting.
