Right after much deliberation and constant hair ripping while trying to sort out my pc have come to the conclusion that my motherboard is borked!

Basically i now need a new rig and to get rid of the old stuff! After a discussion with paul_64l i have decided on getting the mozart tx case, not only for the functionality but also for the bling factor, now i just need summat to fill it with. Am going to be doing a bit of gaming but will mainly be used for my own entertainment and general messing around on. I already have an o/s and monitor, so im just looking for hardware! Either AMD or Intel not too fussed. With regards to money, not looking to spend a fortune, but i want something that will get the job done. So spec me up people!

Like i say not looking to spend a fortune so say £600 but im willing to stretch for the right machine, i might do a little overclocking once i get brave enough.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

Noctua NH-U12F (Socket LGA775/754/939/940/AM2) Heatsink

Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3P (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz Dual Channel Kit

BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache

Pioneer DVR-112DBK 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter - (Black) OEM

Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-520HXUK)

Total : £688.40

Or if you drop the 8800GTS and put the:

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI

It would come to:

Total : £597.92

Depends if you want to start playing games a bit more. :)

That looks good by stickroad, if you want to get it a bit closer to the budget you could drop the Noctua for the moment. The stock cooler will be fine even for some mild overclocking so although the Noctua is a much better cooler overall, sometimes you might just want to stick to your budget.

Yep agree with Semi-Pro, if you drop the Noctua Cooler, the spec with the GTS would then come to:

Total : £651.98
