Ok, so I know how to convert them from iTunes etc, but when I sync with my phone it stores the ringtone....great :).

But say I make another ringtone of a totally different song, and then sync my iPhone, that new ringtone then replaces and adds its self with the one I did before? both songs are totally different, and I dont get it.

look at screenshot...

Nopes, nammed totally different.

But as you can see, they are two of the same, and both of them are the same song (the first one I put on) when you play them.

Im baffled! Can you only have 1 custom ringtone?

Nope, I've had two on the same time before. Have you tried removing both from iPhone and iTunes and starting again from scratch?

Yeah, I tried it the other day and it did it, so gave up, so I tried last night again, and it did it. :@

Clearly I must be doing something wrong though..

How are you creating the ringtones? Personally I use Garageband on Mac.

How are you syncing? I manually manage music etc (which includes ringtones), so I drag them on myself rather than auto-syncing them

I find the song I want to make a ringtone from, I right click, get info, change the times so its 30 seconds long. Then I right click it, Convert to AAC, it converts, makes a 30 second snipet based on the times I gave it. I then go to my iTunes folder, change the name from M4A to M4R, then drag into my Ringtone section on iTunes.

I manually sync also.

But whats strange is, in the ringtone section on iTunes, they are down as two different songs, I play them, they are different. But on my iPhone, they clone, and I end up with two of the same.
