Andre Braugher: Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Homicide star dies aged 61

Braugher often portrayed a gruff policeman, but in roles both dramatic and comedic.

Sad news, only ever seen him in Brooklyn 99, loved the dryness of his character.

61 is far too young. He was brilliant in Homicide: Life on the Street back in the 90s, and of course superb as Captain Holt in B99. Very sad this one.

That was a shock this morning. I thought he was great in B99, although I hadn't seen him in anything else.

Seen all of B99 and him, along with Samberg, were the core of that show and removing either of them would have killed the show.

So sad. Raymond Holt is the funniest character I've seen in an American sit-com. Just thinking about him doing the birthday dance when they're in Florida is making me laugh as I type.

For those that have only ever seen him in Brooklyn 99. That character becomes 100% funnier if you have seen how intense an actor he was in dramatic roles.
