Everton Chairman, Bill Kenwright has passed away. For quite some time, well before Moshiri's ownership in fact, he's borne the brunt of Everton fans frustrations and in some cases justifiably so but for all his failings, his love for Everton was clear and with all that is going on with the club right now, having somebody that has the clubs interests at heart will be sorely missed.

RIP.

Lifelong Evertonian here. When he initially took over he got us out of a tight spot, then he kinda lucked out on the Moyes appointment imo (he was Kenwrights second choice) and that helped keep the club stable during a long period where we had no money and were probably the poorest club in the league.

However he bungled so many things that ultimately held Everton back for decades, the various failed stadium moves, inability to find investment over a 20 year period and the worst one... although it's just a rumour (albeit a strong one)....

He allegedly turned down Man Cities owners before they bought City because he wanted to remain as chairman and they didn't want that.

Lot of ill feelings towards him in recent times, however, no denying he loved the club, perhaps a little too much as he never really wanted to give up his toy set.

RIP.
