so my FX-8350 has died..

long story short.. I moved my pc into a new tower and afterwards it wouldn't post
I double checked all my connections, ram gpu I then thought I may have damaged my board during the move..

so I thought ok ive got the gigabyte 990xa ud3 board with the phenom ii x6 1090t installed. ill swap the cpu over and test it.
I fitted the 8350 to the gigabyte board and again no post..
so I put the phenom ii x6 1090t into the sabertooth and hey presto she posted.

Ive had a few problems with the 8350 a while back I did have a stable 4.4Ghz overclock but about 4 month ago it decided it wasn't happy and would only run stock clock. I put this down to the 650psu and upgraded to a 750 corsair but never bothered doing an O/C so im wondering if its just a coincidence that its went when ive done the swap?
 
Hi, i actually have myself a gigabyte 990xa ud3 and amd 8350 , overclocked to 4.4ghz for the past year and a half,

when you swapped over did you take out the cpu ? . could have static damaged it

did you mean you tested the phenom II X6 into the gigabyte 990xa ud3 and worked ?

then most likely the 8350 is dead
 
the phenom II X6 was installed in the gigabyte board and working fine.
the only time I removed the 8350 was after it failed to post. this is when I removed the phenom II X6 from the gigabyte board and tried the 8350 in there which then failed to post. after this I installed the phenom II X6 into the sabertooth and it booted up first go.

this is what makes it more strange as I moved the board, CPU and cooler as one unit into the new case yet only the CPU has died..
 
yea im using the motherboard at present with the phenom II X6 installed.
Im now looking at a replacement FX CPU it might just be a reason to go to a 9370 or 9590

I just don't understand why its went when it has..
