A true legend in the eyes of English football :(

England's 1966 World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks has died aged 81.

Regarded as one of the game's greatest in his position, Banks was named Fifa goalkeeper of the year six times and earned 73 caps for England.

He is perhaps best known for his wonder save from Pele during the 1970 World Cup against Brazil.

Great keeper. RIP.

I know my grandfather will be especially saddened to hear of this as he was a team mate at Leicester.

I cycle past him every morning & night and he is my childhood football hero along with George Best.
I've also been in his company several times over the decades and he was such a wonderful human being.
Took these around 5:30pm
