I'll always remember him as Kunta Kinte tied to a tree having half his foot chopped off. Now that is dedication to the acting profession.

There does seem to be a lot of actors / actresses passing away recently.

Largely I think that is a generational thing, assuming a similar age to myself, the actors who were most prominent through the bulk and especially formative years of my life are now reaching the age where they are dying off, whereas we probably don't notice as much the actors significant to those of the generations before or after us.
