Kauto Star has been put down after a fall in his paddock. Without doubt one of the greatest steeplechasers in modern times, probably history. His achievements, notably two Cheltenham gold cups and FIVE King George IV chases are simply supreme for the short career of a racehorse. He's probably won a few forum members a few quid over the years. Certainly did for me.

All those years bombing round courses and over massive fences and he is killed by an innocuous fall in his paddock. Fate is very strange at times.

Alan Brazil will probably faint when he hears the news the guy wouldn't stop going on about him when it Gold Cup season during Kauto prime years. Such a shame, last I heard he was put out to stud do we know if he sired any Kauto juniors?
