RIP Michael Parkinson

That’s a real shame. He was iconic. I very recently watched a few of his interviews again when Barry Humphries passed away, the pair of them together playing off each other - brilliant.

Another great bows out.

I think the first time I remember watching him was on the show Give Us A Clue in the 1980s.

The most memorable moment involving him was the infamous BBC Ghostwatch, which he starred as the anchor presenter.

I wasn't really big in to chat shows (though it's a shame we don't have more done by serious people these days), but I enjoyed his interactions with world famous guests. Maybe it was his northern grounded roots that made him authentic that relaxed his guests into speaking to him like a regular person.

RIP.
