One of the iconic house artists of the 90’s, his music was brilliant.

Sunchyme was a brilliant African twist on house, the way he worked sounds such as African drumming and tribal singing was very clever. Also wrote one of the best World Cup songs ever with Carnaval De Paris that he produced for World Cup 98. The amount of times I’ve sung that song after a goal at the football is vast.

Died aged 53 of rectal cancer. No age to go RIP Paul

Not a huge fan of outright House but Sunchyme is a legendary tune.

51 is no age at all but hopefully he is playing with the wax wherever he is

Heard the news yesterday...just too young...I did play Sunchyme and Sunmachine on original 12" vinyl as the sun was setting yesterday evening...great uplifting tunes :) Carnival De Paris is also an excellent anthem

The Sunchyme music video always reminds me of the Lion King :D

Late 1997 if memory serves, the era when club / Ibiza music was in full swing. He had around 10 top-40 hits in the end, including Sunmachine, play-on-words with his flagship single. Also, he was only just down the road from us Stafford / Stoke OcUKers, in Crewe.

R.I.P. Paul.

RIP Paul

Sunchyme is a unique track and really takes me back to that time period. Impressive how they added the steel drum sound into the dance genre and pulled it off.
