Lately ive been having some power issues with my PC and i just wanted to clarify here before i went and did an RMA or anything.

So over the last couple of weeks, when i get up in the morning and hit the power button, nothing happens. no light, no fans, no noise, nothing. i reach round to the back, flick the powersupply off/on diretly from its switch and then it powers on and everything seems to be fine until the next morning. strangely, it doesn't happen every morning though, sometimes its fine, sometimes its not.

To add to the problems, this morning was even worse. Today when i tried the PSU switch, still nothing happened. opened the case to try onboard buttons and check for lights etc, not a single light was on and no response from power or reset switch. tried switching the power cable, flicked switches and cables for couple of minutes, and it came on. None of the network features were working, but it was on. Next i turned it off again, went back to the original cable in the original power outlet, and it worked...

Rig is in my sig, powersupply is a corsair AX 850.

Suggestions or ideas?

Does sound like it could be a PSU issue. Have you got another power supply you can test your rig with?

Yea, i do have a Corsair HX750 laying about. Wont be an immidiate test though as it only seems to be first boot in the morning that seems to have an issue :-/

Any change it could be the motherboard? (i really dont want that) using PC for uni work and i dont to be ripping apart my watercooling

Had exactly the same issue with a seasonic gseries 550w - used my old power supply and all was fine.

I sent back to OCUK for RMA and they said my unit was fine... When I got it back it worked for a couple days then problems came back. Required multiple presses of the power button and wall switch to get it to boot. Eventually two days ago my PC just powered itself off so switched again back to my old PSU and everything is fine.

My PSU is obviously faulty, but not 100% possible to replicate the issue and not wasting more money sending it back. Just a warning.

I can imagine that being a problem for me too, if it cant be easily replicated then its going to be assumed to be fine. which sucks... power supplies are a pain to ship too...
