RIP Syd Barret

That's put me on such a downer :(

Shine on, you were the influence behind the music that I was brought up on.
 
Such as a shame. Barrett will always be THE Pink Floyd to me, am listening to Piper at the Gates of Dawn now. Usually when a great musician dies it is then that he is elevated to legend status, but Syd was regarded as a legend while he was still living. I hope he had some happiness in his life after Floyd, but I know his Schizophrenia was bad. I wonder if any of his private work(paintings and such like) that he did during his reclusive period will see the light of day now, who knows? Shine on....
 
RIP Syd

I was upset to see in the Evening Standard that they were dwelling on his paranoia later in life and said that he'd done too much LSD.

Rock and roll baby, I'm sure the acid gave him great inspiration for the many excellent songs they created

I'm glad I got to see them at live8 even if it was on the telly. sent shivers down my spine

RIP Roger. :( - Apparently, he preffered his birth name in his later years.
 
RIP Syd . . . didn't listen to much of the earlier Floyd stuff but he got the ball rolling.
 
R.I.P Syd, you've left a legacy.

I've spent many a night in my uni room with the lights low, smoke in the air, and a glass of whiskey listening and watching his stuff.

As many have said, Shine on!
