Back in 2014 when they did the '1 down, 5 to go' shows at the O2, you could tell that his memory was going. He was reading several bits throughout the show. They even made jokes about it in the press conferences.

Then it turned out it was dementia, and he lost the ability to speak a couple of years ago. :(

He always seemed to play the quieter characters or a pepperpot, but he was always funny. Great physical comedian.

Fun factoid: In it's history, Ireland has only banned four movies. Terry Jones directed three of them. :D
 
One of my favourite comedy writers and performers, fellow North Walian and the best pair of legs on TV.

RIP.
