Im way, way behind the times when it comes to making mp3s.

Im in the process of putting my music into mp3 format, i have a lot of music cds to convert.

I am using windows media player to rip music off the cds and save them as mp3's. If i do this will they all be fine to copy from my PC to an mp3 player with no hassle?

Do yourself a favour and rip to AAC(.M4A) as you'll get better quality and better compression than .MP3. If you want to go one step further rip your CDs using Exact Audio Copy into a lossless format (.FLAC) and keep on an external disk. Then covert all songs to a lossy format (MP3, AAC.) that way you have your lossless masters and have the flexibility to convert to any lossy format with no quality loss :).
