ripoff postage on ebay - where do i stand?

just one 2 items on ebay, both very light (literally would post first class for a quid) one is £7.50 postage and the other £9.99. These items are from the same seller. Where do I stand? I am thinking the best I can do is ask them to combine the postage, still feels like a ripoff thou. and yes, I know I should have looked before bidding!
 
You knew the postage costs before you placed your bid. By placing your bid, you accepted their charges and costs. There is no use you moaning about it now!
 
Go and collect the items, i always always collect everything and it works very well, you get it instantly, you get to check it before you pay, and there are no postage costs.
 
just to let people know i sell a lot of computers/parts on ebay and people ask me why i charge so much postage and package. The reason i do is as i have someone who works for me doing the packaging, so when i charge more it incudes wages i pay/postage costs/packaging bubble rap, boxes, tape (which is not cheap) people just think its a cost of stamp but it so much more when you add it all up at the end of the month :confused: hope this help people understand a bit more :D

correct , it us used as a way to get round ebays fees , reduce the price of the item and add it on to the postage , I don't agree with people doing it but if it was made clear beforehand then there is nothing you can do though you could consider neutral feedback with a comment on the postage costs
 
high p&p on ebay annoys me too, you've just got to factor it into the final price, too late now though I'm afraid

People do it because it works, though.



All Ebayer should (IMHO) :-

1) Read ALL the auction details
2) Not bid if they aren't happy about the structure of the deal.

If you don't read the offer, you've only got yourself to blame. If you do read it, don't bid if the postage looks like a rip-off. It ain't exactly rocket science. But's it's hardly fair bidding, then moaning about the postage afterwards.

EDIT - The above is an impartial view. I don't use Ebay, so it doesn't affect me.
 
Also, if the postage isn't stated it's best to ask beforehand. To be honest, I think the first rule of eBay is never assume anything (not saying you did though! :) )

Where do you stand? Umm... as has already been said you bidded on the items and entered into a legally binding agreement to buy the goods. You should have enquired about combining postage BEFORE you bought the goods. If the seller decides to combine postage then great that would be nice of him... but if he doesn't then he is perfectly within his rights not to.

Nothing more annoying than buyers who don't read auctions properly before buying... :p

I imagine many sellers don't want people coming to their house, though if it's a place of business then it's likely different.
 
I saw a brand new Mac Book for £14.99 with £1000 ish postage.

Do you think I can go an collect (it was only in Torquay) :D
 
I hate it when they do this :mad:

I bought a top off of there and £2-3 was quoted in the auction.

My invoice said £3.50, being pedant I emailed and told her... she gave some halfwitted excuse and then sent it by her work post!

Fine, meet me at the corner of the road, the garage 2 miles from the house, whatever.

A seller who is not charging rip-off postage should really not have an issue with collection...

Why? I never understand this. I have had people getting funny at me before for insisting on collection. Its always worked out ok in the end, but at first people seem to think i am weird for actually wanting to pay cash and see my item before paying for it.
