Ripping audio only from a DVD

Hi,

Can anyone recommended a reliable and free application I can use to rip the audio only from DVD's, preferably to Mp3 format. These are home made DVD recordings, where Mp3 format is most suitable for transcribing.

I did take a look at Exact Audio Copy, but I believe this is for ripping from CD's, as opposed to DVD's
