Hi,

I'm ripping some of my blu rays using a combination of AnyDVD and also MakeMKV

They work fine on every film except any movie using LPCM as the audio. MakeMKV will just fail. Does anyone know how i can do this? Possibly using eac3to, but could someone give me some pointers?

I know i could just copy the M2TS file as it's only to be played on XBMC anyway, but MKV shrinks the file a bit

I would like to keep the HD audio track if possible, maybe convert to FLAC if someone can show me how?

thanks

I have no problems with pcm using makemkv, also I don't think makemkv shrinks it at all?

Strange....

Every single movie i rip with LPCM audio track will just crash. Other users have also mentioned this on their forums too

It's very frustrating. Well MKV is handy because i can rip just the movie and the soundtrack - makes things a bit smaller which all adds up!

I use the following, bit of a faff but it works a treat.

  • DVD Fab BlurayCopy to rip just the film and save it as an ISO
  • MakeMKV to turn the ripped ISO to MKV
  • RipBot264 to shrink the MKV, I keep the audio full stream quality and video set to 20. Takes aprox 5-6 hours to encode.

After all that you get a great copy with flawless audio. A 25gb film will normally come in around 8gb.

there's a beta code that you put in to avoid the expiration, I stumbled onto it filling a link in a random forum.. Didn't even knew it existed
