Ripping CD problems

My girlfriend has started ripping her cd collection to her laptop but 9 out of 10times MP freezes and the screen sort of goes pale , it plays cd's fine but its when she rips them.

I cant figure out what is goin on her OS is Vista so any help would be appreciated.

Using the lastest version, WMP11? Perhaps try downloading WMP again and reinstalling.

its vista so it has WM11 and cos its vista I cant reinstall MP it just tells me I have the latest edition

Will it let you remove it with add/remove programs? I've never tried.

Unfortunatly MP is a fixed part of vista and cant be removed only updated

Google Cdex, it's freeware and rips cd's much better
